STUDIO EVENTS
The studio participates in several events throughout the year. Students will only be entered into an event if they are prepared for a successful experience and have permission from a parent.
NAMTA Fall Festival
usually the last Saturday of October or first Saturday of November at OU
entry fee: $20
The Annual NAMTA Fall Festival provides an opportunity for individual students to play for an adjudicator and receive a rating on their performance. The Festival is held at The University of Oklahoma's Catlett Music Center. This is a wonderful time for new students to perform in a nurturing environment and is the most appropriate event of the year for beginners to get some experience playing in front of an adjudicator. Parents may accompany their student into the performance room.

usually the last weekend of February at Sooner Mall (by JCPenney)

The Sooner Mall Marathon is a free, annual event sponsored by NAMTA in order to give music students the opportunity to perform in a casual setting. It is the appropriate venue for a wide variety of musical styles and performance.
Friday night is reserved for a High School Showcase; Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday times are for individual studios. Participating teachers will be given a specified amount of time for their studios.
Mall Marathon runs like a regular studio recital with each student having an opportunity to perform a piece.

OMTA District Achievement Audition
usually a Saturday in March at OU
entry fee: $25
The purpose of the Achievement Audition is to provide a noncompetitive event to recognize and encourage individual achievement without comparison to, or contrast with, other students of similar age and length of study. The student will perform for an adjudicator and will recieve a critique and/or rating depending on what category they are entered in. Parents are welcome to sit in the room where their student is performing. An optional written theory test is also offered and encouraged. Students will be prepared for their tests in group classes and in their private lessons to insure a successul experience.

Students receiving a I or I+ at the District Achievement Audition are eligible to enter in the State Achievement Audition. This event is very similar to the District level event. Students will again play for an adjudicator and will receive a written critique and a rating.

i-= bronze medallion
entry fee: $25 (cash only) paid at District Achievement Audition
